Scotty, I’m looking into buying a truck, used cheap, around $6,000 or less. I’m looking at 1st and 2nd generation Silverados 1500 2000-2006 & 2007-2013 respectively, 1st and 2nd generation Tundras 2000-2007 & 2008-2014 respectively. I’m not sure which choice to go with for DIY maintenance and repair, what are your thoughts? Thanks

well the older it is, the more DIY friendly. But also the older and more worn out/broken down and unreliable it is. Definitely avoid post bankruptcy GM. Older diesels can be even simpler (if you remove the emissions stuff), but parts can be expensive.
