Do I need a “fuel induction service” offered by the dealership?

I have a well-maintained Honda Accord LXG 2005, with 207.000 kms on the car. Bought this car new (one owner) and maintained by Honda dealership since.

A mechanic at another Honda dealership suggested that I have this service. Do I really need this service? I drive mostly on highways. I live in Toronto and 4 times a year, I drive to Montreal to visits friends.

Have you ever had the fuel injectors cleaned? That's what is being recommended.

If you haven't, then yes...I would go ahead and have it done.

But my car runs perfectly fine. No problem with acceleration and all that sort. It was another Honda dealership who suggested this service.  My regular Honda dealership advised me not to. They should know since my car is serviced there according to manufacturer’s. This car is well taken care of, no rust yet because I had this rustproof  every year (Krown).

Fuel induction service usually cleans the intake, throttle body, and fuel injectors. IMHO, if your car is running fine, no urgent need to do it. If your car is running rough or misfiring or getting certain intake or throttle ir MAF sensor codes, it may be worth doing.

Dealers charge an arm and a leg for it though.

Get it done somewhere else. You may benefit improved mpg.

Thank you!😊

My car does not misfire or any MAF codes or whatever. I watched Scotty Kilmer whom I followed, and he said that driving long distance at 70miles or more help clean the carbon built-up. I do mostly highway driving, especially going to Quebec takes about 6 hours x 4 times a year. Will it not clean the system? My car does not shake at all, in fact it’s smooth driving. If my regular Honda dealership opposed to this service, should I not listen to them? Yes, this service is expensive. And I’m planning to keep this car for another 4-5 years because of its age. But this car is so reliable that I was hesitant to sell even after 4-5 years.
