My 2007 Honda Civic sat for 6 months in the garage. My car is dead because haven’t driven for 6 months. When I turn key, no light and no sound. When I hook ma battery to used battery sitting in garage. It gives a power to my car but hear something spinning.
do I need a NEW battery? My concern is if it was not battery problem, I’m wasting hundred bucks.
If it’s not due to battery, should I bring it to shop because I have no tools to test it?
Sorry, I think the sound is more likely “blinking” sound.
The battery sitting in the garage may not be charged enough to power the starter - just turning on lights and radio are not that demanding. One cheap thing you can do is either buy a charger (as little as $25) and try that. Or you can take one or both of the batteries to you local parts store for them to test - most of the chains will do that for free. If a starter is marginal, sometimes a non-hard-enough-to-break anything whack with a hammer will bring it back to at least temporary life.
