Hi Scotty,
Love YouTube channel and the great advice.
I’m looking for some of that advice, I have a 2008 Hyundai Veracruz Ltd. AWD with about 175K miles. I had it into the dealer a few weeks ago for a transmission flush and while they were working on it they sent me a repair quote saying the transfer case is leaking and canning be resealed, recommend replacement.
This car we now only drive around town, no farther than AAA can tow back to our dealer because it stranded us 6 mo ago on a road trip. Because of that and the mileage, I don’t want to spend $4-5K to replace or even $2K or so to replace aftermarket.
What do you think about if I just have the t-case serviced more often…every yr or every 6 mo instead of the normal service interval of 30K mi or so? Or do I need to take it to. Transmission shop and get a least a remanufactured one in there for $1500-2K?
Thanks,
Jayme

never flush a transmission. Only drain and fill

did they show you the leak?
If it's not bad enough to drip on your driveway, then I wouldn't worry about it at all.

I wouldn't either. Not worth it.

I think that's overkill. A complete drain every 50 to 60k is plenty. Doing a full service won't help with the leak. I would just learn how to do it yourself (find the fill plug, and the type of fluid it takes) and keep it topped up. That's it. I would not put any more money into this Hyundai, and I would stay away from this company in the future.
