I just bought a used 2014 Ford Taurus Limited with 76,000 miles and I’ve never owned a Ford .My grandfathers a die hard Ford man and said I should only use motorcraft oil and filter when doing an oil change. Does it REALLY Matter ??? Thanks in advance

For oil filter, coolant, transmission fluids, diff fluids...I would use Motorcraft ones. For motor oil, any good brand that meets the API specification and recommended viscosity is fine. There is a nice YT channel called Ford Tech Makuloco by a Ford specialist/former Ford Master Tech. This is very helpful for Fords.
