Are you talking about 1500, 2500 or 3500?

1500:The regular Pentastar V6 and HEMI V8 are both relatively good motors. The ZF transmissions are bulletproof.

2500 & 3500: My uncle owned 2 of those trucks- '93 Cummins and '07 Cummins and he never had a problem with either one of them. The Cummins in the 2500/3500 are good and can last some time. Rumors are out there that the 2022 RAM is getting some upgrades including a possible different transmission than the current 6-speed AISIN in the heavy-duty pickups.

Are the RAM pickups bad? Besides the complex computer and electronics- not really. Ford and GM still use the 10-speed transmissions and look where that got them.
