Hello, I am an independent audio technician looking for a van for my equipment. With my price range being very low, I have found older vans such as dodges and fords to be the most popular. I am trying to figure out what the pros and cons of the dodge van and the econoline. Most of the dodges I am looking at are between the years of 1995 to 2003. Similar to econoline.

Thanks and much help appreciated

thanks everyone. It is clear that the econoline is a much better option.

The Ford Econoline is probably the best cargo van ever made. You cannot go wrong with one of those.

I drove past a Dodge van today. The entire body was an ugly mess of peeling paint, with chunks hanging off everywhere LOL.

Imagine buying a dodge van in 2003 when you could have gotten an econoline with a 7.3. It destroys my heart

filling up at the pump with a 7.3 would destroy my heart. We're paying $4.30 a gallon.

I have driven my 05 Econoline 220K miles or so and it is still going absolutely strong with the 5.4 2 valve.

Although there is a tiny bit of rust, it has held up remarkably well after the use it has seen.

If you get an 03 Econoline, try to find one that isn't beat to hell that has a 7.3L powerstroke. The 7.3 on those vans was one of the most reliable modern engines made by any manufacturer ever.

The V10 on those vans were pretty good as well. If you get one after the refresh, you can get a chromed up bumper should you desire.

GET AN ECONOLINE!!! Get it inspected, and you won't regret it.

This is one of the rare occasions where I will actually recommend the Ford.
