I have a 1998 dodge ram 1500 laramie with a 5.2L with a P0601 code (Internal control module memory check sum error) i have tried some tricks to reset the computer but nothing so far. i also do not know if the computer was modifed to work with the cold air intake that someone put on. I am looking at buying a new computer for the truck but i dont know if it has a PCM or ECM or a combined unit with the PCM ECM and ECU, any help is appreciated thank!

PCM/ECM/ECU terms are often used interchangeably, but it doesn't really matter. Just look up the engine computer on a parts website like rockauto, mopar.com, etc. or call the dealer. It'll have to be programmed at the dealer anyway (or maybe a well equipped shop)
