Drivetrain noise

Hey Scottie. I drive a 2005 Toyota Camry with 241,000 km(150,000 miles). It's got the 2.4 i4 with a 5 speed manual. Recently I've been getting a high pitch wailing noise coming from somewhere in the drivetrain I think. It sounds sort of like tire noise just more high pitch. I was thinking if changing the gear oil would help. It seems like it's worse on cold days. What do you think? Thanks

Make a YouTube video of the noise & post the link here.

Certainly wouldn't hurt to change it. How long has it been since the manual trans fluid has been changed?

Could be many things so try to narrow it down. Like do you hear it in all gears? Parked?

Are you certain it’s not worn out wheel bearing/s?

Toyota makes bulletproof manual transmissions.
