2004 chevy silverado 6.0, 4L80E transmission. Pulled a code P1810.
Drove truck home, ran fine. Started next morning started fine, but it would not shift into any of the gears. Any ideas?
I recently replaced the following in the
transmission (4L80E): A&B shift solenoids, EPC Pressure Control solenoid,
TCC Lockup solenoid, Speed sensor, Manifold Pressure Switch,
Transmission filter & o'ring, & also replaced the Throttle Position Sensor. I
really don't understand how it worked fine one moment, then the next
day, transmission not shifting at all, The mechanical cable appears to shifting the
transmission. I just don't get it. Sooo frustrated, just bought the truck for 8k. Drove ok for about a month. Please if you can help.
Well Jim called it ain't what it used to be I'll tell you going to have to rebuild the whole transmission last time I had one like that something broke with side sun gear and it didn't move at all required a complete overhaul. If you know any extra transmission rebuilders have them check it with their dealer scan tool you might get lucky maybe this is short somewhere
Thanks for your reply. I'm no car guy, just a Dad trying to fix a car. I was thinking...well hoping it might be electrical, because I didn't feel anything while it was driving. No slipping or jerking. I found zero metal pieces in the fluid.
I'm not sure why you're replacing all that stuff. I did a quick web search for "P1810" and the first result is this procedure:
