Should I pimp my Civic exhaust

What's good everyone. I have a good question its a subject my uncle couldn't answer to so it was today I was out riding to get gas when a dude that owns a 2002 Honda Civic LX 2-Door in oncoming was passing by and his was louder and sounded so good I had to roll down the window and look back and I happened to see he had two four inch mufflers so after seeing that I thought hmmm does dual exhaust a Honda Civic do anything? I know there would be a change in tone and will be louder but any gains?

More noise that nobody wants to hear.

Generally you can expect minimal to no objective power gains from just an exhaust.  If you add an upgraded intake in addition to the exhaust, and have it professionally tuned by someone who knows what they are doing, you can get improved performance ... along with risk of increased wear and possible catastrophic engine failure. You are talking about a 20 year old Civic, so let’s not get carried away.

True. I own a 2001 LX 4 Door it runs pretty good at over 180K miles when it had lower mileage I did a few mods to it headers, cold air intake, performance chip, resonator delete, 2 inch pipe to the rear and a 4 inch Magnaflow Glasspack. It sounds really good considering the amount of compliments I get from others but truth be told when I saw dude had two mufflers on his Civic I didn't know it was possible to dual exhaust a 7th generation

What most people will think when that "dude" roars by is, "What an imbecile!"
