- I expect to be doing a little traveling, camper style. Will occasionally use vehicle to move a palletized load. Is it MUCH EASIER TO MAINTAIN the F-150/250 under the hood then the E-150/250? Things like spark plugs, alternator change outs, AC? Alternative to E-150/250 would be 6x10 cargo van.

Yes 100%.
But it's easier to keep your load dry and secure in the E-series.

Judging from my father-in-law's 2000 E-350, the van version of that chassis is awkward, if you're going to go with an E-Series van. Part of the engine is inside the van, shielded by cup holders and a console in between the driver and passenger. As a result, when you go to remove spark plugs, it will take longer vs a traditional pickup. The E-Series and F-Series are built on the same frame.
The air intake is also awkward, there are two pieces that must be taken out before any work can be done to the engine itself. It's annoying, at least to me. I'd go with an F-150/F-250.
