Should I modify my intake

Hello Scotty. I enjoy your videos. I want your advice. I own a 1972 C20 with a 402, auto trans, and over 200,000 miles. It runs great and I get 12mpg freeway. Do you think I can get better mpg or performance by connecting a 2" diameter hose from the grill area and connect it to the air filter housing snorkel? Thus cooler air, and a "poor man's" supercharger.

Thans,

R

No. Waste of time. You're not supercharging anything and you won't see any difference.

Welcome new member (and sounds like a cool truck).

From what you describe, it's kind of like a DIY cold air intake.  I doubt you'd see much gains.  Mostly, I would just use a regular air cleaner and replace it regularly.  Possibly, you could get marginal improvement with a low-restriction filter, like K&N, but they tend to be more expensive than they are worth for daily use.

Honestly, if you are getting that kind of MPG out of the ol' girl, I think your airflow is pretty good already.
