I have a 2001 automatic 1.8 4 cylinder engine Nissan Sentra with about 170,000 miles my parents are the first owners of this car and had to get the computer placed because there was electrical issues in the car but they did purchase a used computer and then the issue happen again about four years later and I took over the car and I had to purchased a used computer due running poorly and having colds and was told that had to be changed . I do most of the work on my cars and had this car running great but after five years of having the car again there was codes that I was unable to get rid of even after replacing parts on my car that were making it run poorly. Once again I had codes in my car that I was unable to take care of even though the car was running great. Anyway I am now having The computer replaced with a “brand new” one and “not a used” one 😐 my question is should I hold onto the vehicle or get rid of it as soon as possible after it is fixed? I have also found recalls that have to deal with electrical and computer issues that I will post those below here so you can give me your best thoughts and advice thank you.
It would help us advise you if you could tell us what these recurring codes are
It looks like failing ECUs are a major problem for this model (and your one!), and I imagine they aren't cheap..
If you've gotten 170K miles out of it, it may be time to pass it on to somebody else.
