65 Mustang auto w 302 ci. Previous owner installed along w Edelbrock carb and electric fuel pump. Starts and runs. However I noticed when key is on and fuel pump is running the carb will literally fill up and overflow. What should I look for that is causing so much fuel to flow into carb?

The float needle may be stuck open or the electric fuel pump may be wrong for a carburetor. Why not just use the correct mechanical fuel pump that came on the car?

Previous owner put electric fuel pump on when they swapped out engine. Mechanical pump isn’t on the engine anymore. It is an edelbrock electric pump tho so I would think it’s compatible
thanks. I’ll take upper part of carb off and see if something got stuck
