Are we all going to drive electric cars in 5-10 Years?
I would like to know your opinion on the subject.
I rather doubt the infrastructure could be produced at that size that quickly. I remember when I was a kid in the 1960s and they said soon we'll be all driving flying cars
Infrastructure, that is a huge problem for these companies to solve.
Thank you 👌
Nope, no way it can happen in that period of time. Certainly at my age (about the same as Scotty) I'll never own an electric car simply because I only buy older vehicles (usually about 15-20 years old) and by the time there are older, functional electric cars on the used market I'll be pushing up daisies.
Not to mention that the push to electric cars is not due to market demand but by the diktats of clueless politicians. It makes no sense, there is simply no good reason for it, and electric cars as they exist today are not practical for a very large number of people.
Further along in the future, who knows, maybe someone will invent Mr. Fusion.

Clueless politicians are directed by advisors, lobbyists, donors, surveys etc. Guess that's what the public whant 😒
Thank you
I seriously doubt it's what the public wants. Except for a tiny minority no one is clamoring for electric cars. It's a good bet that most members of the public are not even paying attention.
🙁
You use the word “all” in your opening post. The short answer is No. I would be surprised if the overall market share for pure EVs even cracks 5% by then. We will probably see more plug in hybrids around but you will still see lots of ICE on the road. The used car market is very big and I don’t see the majority of ICE disappearing from the roads anytime soon, certainly not in 5-10 years. I don’t necessarily have issues with new propulsion technology, but pure EVs have a long ways to go before they are viable for most people.
