Electric fuel pump wiring

I’m wiring up an electric fuel pump for my normally mechanical fuel pump engine. Where could I wire it into so it gets power when the key is in the on position, and when the car is running. (It’s an 85 Toyota pickup with the 22r engine)

Maybe wire the 12 volts to your new fuel pump relay from the black/yellow wire coming from your ignition switch.

Place a fuse between the new connection and your new relay.

After giving this some more thought, I suggest you also put an inertia cut-off switch in the circuit.
You don't want to get into an accident and have your fuel pump spraying 50 PSI of fuel onto your wrecked vehicle as you lay there unconscious.

To the diagram, add a fuse between the ignition switch hookup and the inertia cut-off switch and a fuse between the battery connection and the relay.

Thank you man!!

Find the wire that originally connected to the electric choke with a test light.  Connect it to the electric fuel pump through a fuse and it will turn on and run in the on position.
