What are your 2021 Tacoma opinions

Hey Scotty,

I have been listening to your YouTube channel for a few months. You were correct on the F150 with the Eco boost and transmission. I have a 2018 F150 XLT with the 3.5L twin turbo. With 32k miles I started having shifting problems and less power from the turbo. I down graded to a 2021 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 TRD 50miles. I got the truck for 34k. Is this a good deal and is this thing going to last me? I always take care of my vehicles!

Ford quality is subpar

You did a good thing getting the Tacoma.

You made the right choice for longevity my friend. The Options with the F150 are weak right now. And the 10 speed transmissions they have are riddled with issues. Follow the owners manual for your Tacoma and you will have a great truck for years to come.

oh not too mention I had the dash issue. where the dash was coming apart from window. i live in cold temps and realized it was letting air in there. mess of a truck

I would say you upgraded to the Tacoma. You maintain it and that truck will last until you are tired of driving it.

Ford quality is terrible.

Good move - Ford quality is just not there anymore.  While there are no guarantees in life, the Tundra should have the best chance amongst the current trucks to last a while with minimal issues.  Realize no vehicle is perfect, but if you stay on top of the maintenance for the Tundra it should go far for you.

He bought a Tacoma not a Tundra.

Thanks for the catch! Yes I meant Tacoma. Either way, good move.

You downgraded on size.
you upgraded on quality/longevity!

Size works enough for me right now but down the road i may look to updgrade. But figure got resale value too!

That was a good move. The Tacoma will last forever.

Wow resale value in my area is insane even better than real estate in my area.

I think you made think right choice, as long as the Tacoma is doing what you want it to do. If it isn't, then you probably should have gotten a Tundra with a few more years and miles.

Yeah Im not horse trailering or anything. Mostly my fishing boat and occasional trailer. I got a sweet deal on the tacoma just couldnt go to 45k for the tundra. plus i really want to see the next gen of tundras

I can definitely understand if that is all you are doing but I was just saying if you had a bigger boat or something like that, but if you don't, then you made the right choice because you don't really need a Tundra.

I didnt like some of the feature of the tundra plus not to mention getting 15mpg. No storage under the back seat was a big one. My boat is a 14 bass boat the tacoma should have no problem. Dealer said they will need to out in 4k just to sell the truck

Yeah I will admit that thing is a gas hog!
