Scotty,
I watched your video you did a while ago on the Porter Cable electric impact wrench. I do a lot of my own repairs when I can and it makes sense for what I need, I found a like impact wrench at Harbor Freight (BAUER) and was wondering if it is one of those you have used or thought would be about the same as the Porter Cable? Price is within $10 buck so its a wash and the Bauer has a little higher torque...see link https://www.harborfreight.com/85-amp-12-in-impact-wrench-with-rocker-switch-64120.html
Harbor Freight has had a pretty bad reputation in general for anything electrical or electronic but they have been improving quality in recent years, particularly in their higher end lines (Bauer, Hercules). HF's low-end "Chicago Electric" line is probably still iffy.
One thing to take into account, however, is that the HF standard warranty is only 90 days. To get a better warranty you have to pay extra - $20 for 1 year or $25 for 2 years on that impact gun. This is likely close to the wholesale price of the tool out the Chinese factory door. So if you cash in on the warranty, HF loses little or nothing and if you don't they make a nice additional profit. An advantage of the HF warranty though is that if you do have a problem you just take the tool to a Harbor Freight store and they'll just give you a new one free over the counter. A disadvantage at Harbor Freight they do not have parts available to repair an out-of-warranty unit.
The Porter Cable impact wrench comes standard with a 3-year warranty. However you probably have to ship the tool out to them, meaning shipping cost and wait time.
I have tried Harbor Freight Bauer electric plug in. It was ok, it worked. but I didn’t like it. It was too bulky. I couldn’t fit it where I wanted to fit it.
I recommend looking elsewhere, perhaps even Porter Cable, for something just as powerful, but in a smaller footprint.
