Electrical Problem

Hi, Scotty!  2005 Hyundai Santa Fe 152K miles.  Recently I did some battery maintenance:  treated clamps and posts with battery cleaner and anticorrosion spray.  Then I removed battery and battery seat to clean negative ground wire.  It was a little dirty, so I brushed clean, cleaned the frame surface, and reinstalled it.  Now about 1 out of every 6 times my engine won’t turn over.  Clamps are tight and battery, alternator, and connection to starter are OK.  Had to have been something I did with the ground.  Ni corrosion on wires.  Thanks in advance.

Could’ve be your starter going out. I would also check to make sure your battery terminals and grounds are tight.

Thanks. Maybe the starter, but funny it started immediately after cleaning that ground connection.

Are the wires loose at all in the clamps?

Nope, thanks.

Try getting the battery load tested... couldn't hurt.

Check starter relay and ignition switch.
