Hi Scotty. What do you think of GM's 3 cylinder engine's in the New Trailblazer and Buick Encore GX. PETE
A tiny three-cylinder engine boosted to within a fraction of an inch of its life with turbocharging and GDI, and with the quality of today's General Motors. What could possibly go wrong?
Pass on those vehicles, especially with that engine. It’s only been out since model year 2019 and why be a guinea pig (aka beta tester) for GM? That’s potentially asking for trouble, and they are not even paying you to test for them. See below:

I don't know much about these new ones, but I do remember the Chevy sprint and Geo metro having a 1.0L 3 cylinder engine. They were the first cars I remember being marketed to the commuter and they were a true eco commuter. I remember people getting mid 40s on the mpg out of the metro 2 door hatch with 5spd manual. Now I'm curious if these current engines took any of that original engineering from those 3 cylinder engines.
