I have a 2003 Rav4 2.0 vvt-i gasoline, 156.000km manual transmission and when i unscrew the oil cap there is lots of pressure coming out, no smoke tho. I watched scotty's video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uw8sJsbjFNM&ab_channel=ScottyKilmer . I cannot try a compression test since i cant find a mechanic that has such a tool. Is that oil cap pressure normal? I want to mention that my engine cover leaks oil, could it actually be due to worn out piston rings? The PCV valve is working, i checked it and also cleaned it (wasnt too dirty).
I bought the car 3-4 weeks ago, the oil was changed regularly. It's my first car and i treat it as my child 🙂

There is always some blow by. You have a crankcase ventilation problem. I would get a NEW pcv valve. There are usually two vents from the valve cover. One goes through the pcv valve to the intake manifold and the other goes from the valve cover to the air cleaner. Check this one too for clogs.
The thing is, my catalytic converter is bad, and i think it's due to oil consumption. The car burns about 1/8 parts between oil changes. I dont know if that oil is actuallly burning or its leaking from the engine cover. The only code i get is P0420 catalyst efficiency below threshold. Could it go bad because of the age? I heard that catalytic converters last as much as the lifetime of the car, and mine has only 156.000km or 70k miles
If the cat is shot, it's probably because the engine is burning so much oil, worn out piston rings.
