Hey Scotty, is there truth it is better to cool down an engine by idling a few minutes after a long drive before turning it off? If so what's the proper way?

For older Turbo engines if you drive them hard, yes, but the new ones and also the naturally aspirated engines do not need it. It is the cooling system job to do it and it does better on high speeds than idling.
