Hi Scotty,
I have a 2008 Scion xB. with the 2.4L 4cylinder. I get a lot of dieseling noise (Pre ignition noise), at around 1500 rpm, especially when accelerating and sometimes is sluggish at accelerating from a stop.
Other than that the car seems to run fine.
Any ideas of what to look at.

Have the ignition timing checked with a scanner and possibly, your cam positioning sensor.
