[Solved] 2014 Toyota Camry Hybrid - Engine Temp High

I have a 2014 Camry Hybrid, around 120k miles, got hit with an irresponsible driver's plywood that flew from the back of his pickup.

Long story short I got stuck with a perforated radiator & AC condenser. I shopped around and replaced both, along with the thermostat.

AC is perfect after filling the system, but the engine temperature keeps going up after about 10 minutes, or when I accelerate above 45mph.

If I turn it off or go to N at red lights, the temperature begins to drop, but it never stabilizes in the mid temp.

Had a mechanic look it over and he ran tests, he suspects it's the water pump (electric water pump on this model, so no belts), but when I took it to Toyota Hollywood they read no codes and told me the car is fine. Well the car is clearly not fine because it began to heat up 5 min after I drove away.

So now I'm weighing how to diagnose what the real problem is, and how I can be sure it's the water pump before I shell out $380 bucks for it.

Resume:

Radiator - New / Thermostat - New / Coolant - New.

Any suggestions on how do diagnose or what it could be? Greatly appreciated.

I've had other people look at it and I did burp all the air. I used the burping funnel, turned the car on for several minutes until the temperature reached the point where the thermostat opens and followed all the procedures until no more air bubbles were coming from the burping funnel. IF that wasn't enough, I took it to a mechanic that also did the same procedure and he also doesn't know what's making the temperature rise. I've already flushed the system a couple of times and installed a new water pump. Still nothing, the temperature rises.

SOLVED: So just in case anyone ever comes across this, it was the water pump. I bought a new one at Toyota, when I picked it up I noticed the box was a bit jacked up. So I opened it and examined it right in front of them. It already had the o-ring on it and I saw a small amount of coolant on the part. I asked if it was refurbished, they said it was supposed to be new, but they agreed it didn't look it. So I asked them to take note and write on the receipt, which they did, saying they would accept it if returned. Pump was bad, so I took it back and waited for a new one. Once it arrived it was plug-n-play.

Great to hear it was resolved! Thank you for the update.

You probably didn't burp all the air out of the system properly.

Might want to actually read the full question. If you're not going to actually provide a possible solution, why even comment?
