Scotty i have a 2017 hyundai elantra with 148,000 miles on it now I recently noticed my engine at low rpm and around the 30-40 mph engine starts to get loud like it makes a weird noise but only when lightly accelerating, and when i press on the gas its sluggish to accelerate sometimes, icgot the oil changed and the problem stopped somwhat but its still happening and since iv ehad the car theres been a few times where the engine shuts off while im driving, ive changed the spark plugs the valve cover gasket and the oil and filter regularly since ive had the car, what do you think could be causing the issue?
I assume you do not have any check engine light. You might have a lack of fuel delivery. Pressure test the fuel pump.
I just ordered a pressure gauge and ill be testing it as soon as i get it, if its not that then what do you think it could be though?
Also if it does turn out to be lack of fuel delivery, what do i have to do to fix it?
Replace the fuel filter first and check the pressure. If it is still low, replace the fuel pump.
I havent yet received my pressure test pump, some delays in shipping, but do you the think that couls be the reason my cars been turning off when drivinf? It happens when i am coming to a stop most od the time and it doesnr happen often, weve changed spark plugs o rings valve cover gasket because it was leaking oil, so this is really rhe only other thing i think it could be,
It could be. If the fuel delivery is not done correctly, you will see the symptoms you already have.
Even though there is no CEL, I would get it scanned anyway.
Im gonna pressure test my fuel pump, if thats not the culprit then next step is getting it scanned,
