I have a 1999 chevy cavalier with 200k miles. Been starting just fine up until the other night. It started just fine but when i put in reverse the engine died and hasnt started since. Changed fuses for the fuel pump, put gas in just to be on the same side and same result. What could be the issue?

Do you hear the fuel pump when you turn the key to on position?

It might me time to get rid of it. It's 22 years old. If it ends up costing more to fix than its worth, dump it because I think the thing is only worth a couple hundred bucks.
