Hi Scotty, I have a 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302. The manual says to put 5W50 synthetic oil in the engine. My question is, it's expensive oil to get but not all oil. Oil, for example in Canadian Tire has the Ford approved recommendation on the back of the oil container. Is there that much difference in the oil and will I be okay as long as it's 5W50?

You can use any oil that meets the specifications set down by the vehicle manufacturer.

Please check the FAQ on the front page. It answers your exact question.
The oil viscosity (5W50) is important, but so is the oil performance. You need to look for the American Petroleum Institute (API) certification in your manual, and the on the label on the back of the oil bottle.
