Hi Scotty, I have a 1997 GMC Yukon 5.7 liter engine with 237000 miles on it. For a oil change what type of oil would you recommend synthetic or synthetic blend I want to put the best oil I can find in it as well as the oil filter
it doesn't really matter as long as it meet specifications in your manual, and you change it every 5,000 miles.
Since it's 1997 I believe it takes Conventional Oil as recommended by the manufacturer. But you can switch to Full Synthetic if you want. Oil is Oil it doesn't matter what brand you get. We use either Castrol or Mobil 1 for our cars. For the oil filter I use the OEM ones or Mobil 1. I saw in one of Scotty's videos mentioning if you use conventional oil and switch it to Synthetic then your car might start to burn oil, not sure though.
