Hi,

I own a honda accord 2005 2.4 EX edition with k24a3 engine inside (stock, eudm), i am a typical daily driver who likes to hit the pedal when the engine heats up (when its cold i rarely go over 3k rpm). my question is what engine oil should i use i get confused because someone says 5w-30 is best for that engine but inside owners manual it says 5w-20,but ( a big but) its only for usdm and that they changed it for us to 5w-20 just to pass some emission tests, i cant get a hold on europe owners manual and my local shop says 0w-20 is best for this engine? so i am confused what to use 5w-20/30 or 0w-20?

thanks and have a great day 😀

According to this 2006 EU Accord owner’s manual, either of the 3 is fine -

What does your local Honda dealer recommend, for your engine?

They say 0w-20 is for that engine (But i think its only because its more expensive then 5w-20/30).

they just want to make more money

If I were you, I’d use either of the 3, since the owner’s manual allows you the choice.
