Engine Oil for rebuilt engine.

Hello Scotty, I have a rebuilt 97"  4.2 Liter 6 cylinder F-150 ford engine linked to an automatic transmission.  My Bar friends tell me that using pure Synthetic Engine oil will cause it to never break in; is this true?  They also tell me they use Shell Rotella 15w-40 in their old Gas engine pickup trucks; What do you think about that?

Thanks, The Gear Heads....

What other fairy tales do your Bar Friends tell you?  You should get a recommendation of break in oil from whomever rebuilt the engine.

All right it's an older engine you're probably better off with a Rotela oil
