I just bought a 2009 ford ranger from a private seller. Automatic 4 cylinder, 145k miles. Its leaving 2-3 inch oil spots. I had it looked at and was told the rear seal needs to be replaced. Is there a stop leak you'd recommend such as Lucas oil stop leak or another, or should I cough up the x hundreds of dollars?

Try ATP 205. Worked well on my old Xterra. Just remember that it needs to be added again at every oil change. It takes a couple of hours of engine run time to recondition the seals.
Try AT-205 reseal. Scotty has a whole video on it.

Lol yeah I came here after watching the video. I'm uncertain because he talked about using different products (or not using particular products) in different engines. So I'm just looking for maybe more specificity.
