Just to add a tip - if you go to carcomplaints.com, you can check on a vehicle's recalls, AND it's TSBs - Technical Service Bulletins (things that the manufacturer knows are a problem, but haven't been FORCED to fix for free - at least yet)..
The TSBs listed also show how the manufacturer suggests the problem can be fixed
