Hello Scotty I want to change my engine oil and put a gasket on my 01 Honda Civic ex because my oil is leaking. Would you recommend the permatex gasket sealer or not? I did buy a gasket for it but when I got the package on the box it said it was for Chevy

A physical gasket is always better than using RTV silicone. They are much easier to install and less chance of screwing something up and then your pan starts leaking. I would return the Chevy one and get yourself the correct gasket for your civic. If you do want to use the Permatex, make sure to use one that's oil resistant so that the hot oil will not deteriorate it.
