Scotty. I just bought a 2013 Chevy caprice with an L77 engine. I went to go change the oil and on the cap it says ‘Dexos’ 5w-30. I was going to put my usual Amsoil 5w-30 but there is no ‘Dexos’ anywhere on the Amsoil label. I know Amsoil is very good grade oil, so can I use it for my first oil change since buying the car, or should I just use some oil Kirkland 5w-30 that I just bought a Costco that seems to have the ‘Dexos’ approval?

It doesn't really matter because dexos is just GM marketing. the US already has strict specifications for oil to be sold.
