i have a 2000 dodge ram 1500 5.2 v8 engine. it sounds like a pinging noise and feels like it boggs down at the speed of between 40-45 mph. no check engine light is on.

Just because no check engine light is on doesn't mean there are no stored codes, or clues in the live data. It could be a number of things (clogged fuel filter, clogged catalytic converter, bad fuel injectors, bad spark plugs, and more) but more data is needed for diagnosis.
