Dear Scotty,
Toyota corolla 2018 automatic transmission with 28,000 klms. The issue is that every time it is driven under load or up hill a strange pinging noise can be heard from under the engine. The sound can be best described as a metallic sound. I have tried premium high rich octane fuel with no luck. Please advise what could be the possible issues with this car?? Much appreciate it.

Have you checked your exhaust heat shields? Do you ever get above 3,000 rpms? if not maybe a little carbon buildup after 3yrs.

Have your ignition timing checked. If it's too far advanced, it'll ping no matter what fuel you use.
