Hi,
i have a 2001 Camry with 226,000 miles. Well taken care of. Recently on my way home from work my engine started to knock/rattle as I stopped at a light. It only did it when I was stopped and had it on drive. If it was on neutral or park it wouldn’t do the noise.
took it to a mechanic by my work who has worked on the car before and changed the Evan canister on it. I asked to check the engine mounts and he said it wasn’t that. It’s the gas I am using. He said to use an octane booster and if that helps that I would go to 91 octane. Is this common with older cars ? Would I be able to use 89 instead ?

Try higher octane. If it stopped knocking, odds are that your engine has carbon build up issue.
