Hello everyone,
I had some vibrations while standing in traffic jams with D and pressing brake. After reading, I found out that it's probably some engine mount problem.
So I've decided and replaced all four engine mounts.
Now, when i'm standing it place with D and pressing brake the vibration is even greater, even hood started to vibrate.
At the garage they said, they are new, give them some time to adopt. Sound like a lie to me.
Would be glad to hear your opinion on this
After 3 attempts with different makers, managed to solve this issue.
Replaced the engine mounts with engine mounts from Mitsubishi lancer
Did they use OEM mounts or the cheapest aftermarket thing out of China? Poor quality new mounts could well transmit more vibration than worn originals.
Pretty sure they put some licensed aftermarket of Polish or Turkish origin. The vibration is horrible, I wonder if there parts are adjustable, some say that you should fasten them on a working engine or so...
That does not sound too encouraging. Motor mounts in general do not have any adjustments, they just bolt into place.
Some original mounts are hydraulic (liquid filled) to absorb more vibration and the aftermarket replacements for them can be solid rubber. Even if your OEM mounts were solid, the aftermarket parts may be made from much stiffer rubber that won't absorb vibration as well. That's about the only reason I can think of why you'd be getting excessive vibration with the new mounts. Maybe Scotty or one of the other pros here can chime in if they have more information.
After checking everything else, it seems that you are absolutely right about the hydraulic type of the mount. I'll try replacing the right one with hydraulic type and see how it goes
Replaced the engine mounts, works much better now. However, today while standing in the place with D on, had light vibration, rpm somewhere at ~600, after releasing the brake pedal engine almost stalled out
