Volvo rear bushings

Scotty and friends,

I have a 2013 Volvo S60 T5 AWD. I bought it 5 years ago from an older woman with 3,000 miles. It still had 2 years left on the 4 year maintance. It now has 58,000 miles, and all I've done is work with the dealer. Oil changes, battery and tires.

Every time they service, they say I should consider changing the engine mount $591, and rear suspension bushings $879 plus 4 wheel alignment of $145.

I want to keep the car as long as possible. Should I do it? It runs great, tires wear fine and tracks straight.

What should I do?

If the engine doesn't shake or clunk, then I see no reason to change the mount.

You can look at the bushings yourself. If they're not cracked or crumbled, and the rear end doesn't make noise, then I see no reason to change it.

Look at your tires. If they are wearing evenly across the tire, and your steering doesn't pull to any side, then I see no reason to align it.

I hope that helps.
