Hi Scotty, I have a 2006 Scion xB, automatic transmission, with approximately 215,000 on her. I usually take the car for routine maintenance to the local Toyota dealer, but a year ago I was forced to take it to a different mechanic. This particular mechanic advised getting the engine mounts replaced due to vibration. Perhaps I am just used to the vibration after 5+ years of owning the car, but then I did start noticing the vibration mainly in "park." The vibration is minimal, if not absent altogether when in drive and neutral. I did ask my Toyota service advisor about this, and he basically said that the vibration would not go away entirely even with new mounts. Bottom line: "yeah" or "nah" on getting the mounts changed out?
Check them yourself, if they were good, you do not need to change them.
