Should I replace my 04 Civic engine with 300k

I have a 2004 Honda Civic 4 door base model with almost 300k miles on it. I'm pretty good with my maintenance and never had any problems. One day the engine overheated and I had to get it towed to a shop. After getting it diagnosed, I was told that my headers need resurfacing and oil is mixing in with my coolant. The shop recommended that I just get a new vehicle in fear that other problems may arise due to the age and miles in the car. Others tell me to get an engine rebuild. Should I just let it go or do an engine swap?

That’s an amazing feat. 300K miles.

What’s the costs for an engine rebuild or  engine swap?

The engine rebuild done correctly might cost well beyond the value of the car. You definetly got your moneys worth. As Kazien said, how much is the rebuild? I would just get another car.

If you get the engine rebuilt it will probably last you another 300k.
