Car ~ 2013 civic LX 270,xxx miles
Issue ~ Car stutters usually underload during hard acceleration. If I let go of gas and reapply gas it works, but can get dangerous as I may lose power during lane changes or left turn with oncoming traffic...
History ~ about a year ago, had a mechanic clean out throttle body, mas airflow sensor. He said there was a huge rip in the boot so he replaced it. Been having issues since then (didn't drive much in winter).
This summer issue started again when after a long time I took the car on freeway on a very hot day. All the warning lights go away at time on their own.
Steps taken so far ~ disconnect MAS airflow sensor and car did turn off.
Sprayed carb cleaner at random parts trying to hear for idle noise change?
Me ~ city boy who didn't know how to hold a screw driver few years ago been watching guys like Scotty and learning tons of things, so please use simple English while explaining things. Pretty please 🙂

Sprayed carb cleaner at random parts

It either has a bad MAF sensor (after market instead of OEM) or there's a problem in the wiring. Check for all connections at the plug to see if something didn't get pulled loose. You can't just spray carb cleaner on stuff. It's a very aggressive solvent and can literally melt and fuse electrical wiring and plastic parts. It's for carburetors and cleaning of metal surfaces. Next time, use something like WD40 to find vacuum leaks.
it also coats things in oil, as does wd40.
MAF sensors need to be immaculately clean.
Better to use propane or water
@mmj Excellent advice. I'll take it. I hope he didn't spray carb cleaner on his electrical connections.
