Is ethanol free gas better to use on 2022 Frontier than  premium gas?

Nope. All cars made in the last few years can handle up to 10 or 15% ethanol.

Up to 85% for "flexfuel" designated engines.

No.

Does Nissan recommend that you use premium gas in your truck? Ethanol free gas cost more than regular unleaded gas and for a vehicle like that I wouldn't even think about putting either one of those types of gasoline in your new car.

Premium is recommended for the best performance and fuel economy. They use a higher compression engine to get the power it does and I’ve used lower octane and over a tank or two there is a noticeable drop in. Both performance and fuel economy

The ethanol-free fuel won't hurt anything but since for years now all cars have been designed to work with 10% ethanol adulteration (more if flex-fuel) it's not necessary. You'll just be wasting money. If the car is designed to take advantage of premium's higher octane just use the 10% ethanol stuff commonly available and don't worry about it.
