I'm looking to trade my Accord for something different.

Hey Scotty,

I know I'm going to be shooting myself in the foot but I am wanting to do an even trade of my 2006 Honda Accord EX for something like a Murano or a Pilot. Unfortunately, as much as I wish diets would work (😂) I'm feeling rather claustrophobic and I'm just too close to the airbag.

It has 219k miles and it will need a right ball joint, valve cover gasket, and a ac recharge. It's needs headliner work but the leather is great.

What do you recommend I trade it for or do you think I should sell it.

Thank you your time.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Rankin

Are you into just an SUV or do you need a vehicle with 3rd row seating?

I understand this dilemma myself personally.

Between the two options listed, I would get the Pilot. Nissan has problems in many more ways than one, and those Muranos are known to have issues as they get up in mileage.

Maybe also take a look at a Rav4, Highlander, or 4Runner. You might like them as well.

Great to have you back Mod_Man.

Thanks @Doc. Was a short exodus as it turned out. Good to see you.

As for trading in vs. selling and then using the cash I would suggest you get quotes from a few places like Carmax, Carvana, Vroom etc. too see who gives you the highest price for your car and then decide to trade in or sell yourself. As for what to get instead the Pilot is definitely much better. Also, might want to test drive the new Highlander; it's a pretty nice car and good quality.

Sell or trade? Whichever you can get the most money for with the least hassle.

If you wanna trade it, trade it for the Honda Pilot, the Muranos are meh (2nd gen was ok but I would not buy a 1st or 3rd gen Murano).
