Can I smoke test my EVAP system through the gas cap if I know my leak is not there. Also, do I need to close anything on the system before applying the smoke?
Well sure you can test it anywhere but you're going to have to seal it and that's the problem. How you going to seal that hole. But realize most cars under the hood have an evap test for it that you can easily hook them up to and that's made for testing them
Hi Scotty, thanks for your answer. As a matter of fact I did find that port under the hood after doing some research. I also found out that I have to close my vent solenoid for the system to be sealed but my scan tool is not advanced enough haha. Any alternative solution on a 2004 Corolla? I doubt it will work but, could I attempt to test it without closing that vent?
