Hey Scotty and friends.
I plugged in my Creader V+ ODB reader on my 2008 Lexus RX 350. There are no trouble codes. On the Diagnostic Menu, I select “Evap System(mode$8)”. On the next screen, I get the following message:
”Evaporative system leak test failed”
Not sure what this means, since there are no trouble codes. Anything to be concerned about?

Well, it's good that you have an enhanced diagnostics function on the scanner, and that you used it. You found something out of spec, but not yet sufficient to trigger a code. Often, it takes multiple cycles of a poor reading to move an item into pending and then a hard code.
Do the most simple thing: After 13 years, buy a new OEM gas cap. The O-Ring might be deteriorating, enough to throw a code soon.
What does "leak test failed" mean? Trouble is coming. You've been warned. Take appropriate measures or find a hard code, soon.
