My car seems to have excessive brake pedal travel.
It seems to grab right away but it maintains light braking until about half way down.
It doesn't feel spongy and I haven't had any brake work done. It's been this way for a long time and we've lived with it but I'm wondering what it is.
I tried the test of pushing the brakes with engine off and pedal is stiff.
Plenty off pad left.

Well if it's stiff with the engine turned off but when you turn the engine on but doesn't get stiff and it sinks odds are you need a new brake booster
