How do I fix trouble code P1309 - Misfire Detection Monitor Not Enabled

Hey Scotty,

I have an 1999 F150 4.2 L V6 5 spd. manual 2wd with 110,000 KM (appro. 68,000 miles). Truck seems to run and drive/shifts good but I get a Service Engine Soon (CEL). Pulled the code with my scan tool and it is P1309 - Misfire Detection Monitor Not Enabled. Did some research and figured most likely the Camshaft Position Sensor maybe was going bad. Took it to a mechanic and he recommended we replace the Cam Synchronizer (as it also comes with a new sensor).  Drove it home after work and 10 miles down the road the code came back. Any thoughts on what to do or look at next? Thanks!

Did your mechanic put OEM parts on your car? Is the synchronize assembly installed correctly?
