Scotty, I have a 2022 F150 5.0L on order and can't find out how the Ford Variable Displacement Engine works. It seems like Ford wants to keep this information under wraps. Can you tell us how it works and give us your opinion on if it will be reliable? Thank You! {black}:scared:

Given that no other manufacturer has been able to get it to work flawlessly without issues, as well as Ford’s persistent lack of quality for a while now, I would not count on it being reliable.
Avoid cylinder deactivation like the plague. There’s a good reason Toyota never pursued it.
